Visiting Metropolitan of Buenos Aires received by Greek leadership

Greek president of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, on Wednesday received the visiting Metropolitan of Buenos Aires, His Eminence Iosif, who briefed her over the activities of the Orthodox Church in Latin America.

The Diocese of Buenos Aires is under the Ecumenical Patriarchate and includes, beyond Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana.

His Eminence also met in Athens with Greek government officials, including Education and Religious Affairs Minister Niki Kerameos.
