Thousands of faithful on Wednesday enthusiastically welcomed the newly elected Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Eminence Joanikije, outside the Metropolitan Cathedral in Podgorica.
A Serbian Orthodox Church Bishops’ Council held last weekend at Belgrade’s Church of St. Sava elected Bishop Joanikije as the new Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, with the seat being at the Cetinje Monastery.
Among those waiting to welcome the new Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral were the country’s prime minister, Zdravko Krivo-KA-pic.
