This morning the Archepiscopal Vicar of Canberra, Very Reverend Archimandrite Prochoros Anastasiadis served Matins and the Divine Liturgy at the church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Launceston.
Father Prochoros was accompanied by the Reverend Vasilios Verdos, Parish Priest of the church of the Holy Trinity in Hobart.
It was a moving service as it was the first time that Father Prochoros served a service in Tasmania.
At the conclusion of the service Father wished the people of Launceston a blessed lenten period and conveyed the Love and Blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
A luncheon in honour of Father followed the service, where the wonderful volunteers presented Father Prochoros with a gift on the occasion of his initial visit to Launceston
