On the occasion of the beginning of the new ecclesiastical and educational year and with the blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia, we announce the start of Sunday School classes on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at the premises of the St. George’s Cathedral in Stockholm (Birger Jarlsgatan 92, 11420 Stockholm).
Parents accompanying their children are kindly requested to sit in the front pews, so that right before Holy Communion, His Eminence and the Pastor of the Cathedral may offer a short speech to the children. Then, the children will receive Holy Communion and proceed to their classrooms.
This year, seven young volunteers are in charge of teaching our children the Gospel message, the lives of our saints, the Tradition of our Church, and will offer them a number of activities, while at the end of the Divine Liturgy they will come again to church to receive the antidoron/bread.
On the first Sunday of classes, i.e. on October 17, the children will be divided into different groups, depending on their age, both in the church upper room and other adjacent rooms.
Remembering the command of our Lord: “Ἄφετε τὰ παιδία καὶ μὴ κολύετε αὐτὰ ἐλθεῖν πρός με” (Matt. 19:14), let us not deprive our children of the spiritual supplies that will benefit them in their spiritual life and future endeavors.
