Sessions of the Synaxis – or assembly – of the Hierarchy of the Ecumenical Throne, which took place this week in Constantinople, concluded on Friday.
On Thursday, the Archbishop of Canada, His Eminence Sotirios, presented recommendations regarding the spread of the Gospel in the 21st century.
During the afternoon session, the Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, delivered a presentation concerning the foundation and progress of the “Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Foundation”, which to date has raised more than 15 million dollars.
Sessions on Friday, the last day, focused on the issue of pastoral dialogue, with the Elder Archimandrite Eliseos, the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Simonos Petra, on Mount Athos, speaking on the theme of “Ethos of Orthodox Monasticism”.
