Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiadis on Monday evening presented US Senator and Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Robert Menendez, with the Order of the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III.
In his brief comments, the influential US Senator emphasized that his goal is to see the last Turkish soldier leave Cyprus.
During his address, the Cypriot president underlined that through his actions and policy, Sen. Menendez has made a significant contribution to the promotion of human rights, and to the rule of law and democracy around the world.
The award ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace, and was attended by, among others, the Archbishop of Cyprus, His Beatitude Chrysostomos II.
