Search for missing Mt. Athos monk in Singitic Gulf proves fruitless so far
Search efforts for a 58-year-old monk of Mount Athos, missing since Monday after venturing into the Singitic Gulf with a fishing boat, continued on Thursday. The specific gulf lies between the promontories of Mount Athos, to the east, and Sithonia in the west, in northern Greece.
Two Hellenic Coast Guard patrol boats and two private vessels continue to scour the sea region in search of the missing man.
