The Metropolitan of Veria, His Eminence Panteleimon, on Renewal Tuesday, and on the occasion of the feast day of St. Matrona the Wonderworker of Moscow, officiated at a Divine Liturgy and gave a sermon at the Monastery of the All Saints, Aghion Panton, in Greek, at the Vergina site, where a portion of the saint’s Holy Relics are venerated.
Elsewhere in the country, the Metropolitan of Dimitriados, His Eminence Ignatios, on Tuesday officiated at con-celebratory services at the Cathedral of Raphael, Nicholas and Irene, the neomartyrs of Lesbos, in the presence of worshippers. Bright Tuesday is the feast day of trio of Newly-Appeared Martyr saints.
Still in another corner of the east Mediterranean country, the four-day pilgrimage and veneration of St. Spyridonas of Corfu, a testament of the Resurrection, was concluded on Bright Tuesday.
The services were officiated by the Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxoi and the Diapontian islands, His Eminence Nektarios.
Finally, scores of worshippers on Renewal Tuesday again flocked to the Panagia Kakaviotissa Chapel, which is located within a mountain crevice on the northeast Aegean island of Limnos.
Every year, a Divine Liturgy is celebrated at the chapel two days after Holy & Great Easter, on Renewal Tuesday, where icon of the Panagia Kakaviotissa is conveyed in a procession and venerated.
The chapel is considered one of the few, if not the only, purpose-built roofless churches in the world.
