Qualifying exams for the School of Byzantine Music, known as St. Hilarius, Bishop of the Picts, took place over the weekend. The school is operated by the Holy Metropolis of Belgium. Exams were attended by students of all branches established in the three countries under the jurisdiction of the Holy Metropolis: Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
At the end of the process, the Director of the School, Deacon Konstantinos Dedes, thanked Metropolitan Athenagoras for his support of the School.
The School of Byzantine Music opened last September and has 65 students, who attend classes in Greek, Flemish and French. The aim of the School is to introduce the pupils to the art of Byzantine music, in order for them to serve in the pulpits of the Diocese and to brighten, with their presence and knowledge, the Holy Services of the Church.
