The Patriarchate of Jerusalem on Wednesday celebrated the feast of the Nativity of St. John the Forerunner and Baptist, as based on the Julian calendar.
The commemoration was celebrated by the Jerusalem Patriarchate at the place of St. John’s Nativity, in Ain Karem of Judea. The site hosts a Cathedral of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist since the days of the Patriarch of Jerusalem Cyril II, in the mid-19th century.
