Patriarch of Russia Kirill congratulates new German Chancellor Scholz

The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, this week conveyed a congratulatory message to Olaf Scholz over his election to the post of German Chancellor.
In the message, His Holiness noted, among others, that: “…The Russian Orthodox Church, which has historical presence in the German land and takes pastoral care of its numerous flock, expresses its readiness for further development of the relationships with the Government of the Federal Republic and its commitment to strengthen the friendly ties between the Russian and the German nations.”
