The Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, was received this week Uganda President Yoweri Museveni in the capital of Kampala.
The Primate of the Alexandrian Patriarchate was in Uganda for a wide-ranging missionary tour.
The Uganda President welcomed the Patriarch, thanking him for the work of Patriarchate of Alexandria both in the country and in the rest of Africa, especially during the difficult period of the pandemic.
In reply, His Most Divine Beatitude thanked Museveni for the warm welcome and briefed him over the general missionary and pastoral activity of the Patriarchate, as well as the humanitarian work conducted on the African continent.
On Monday afternoon, Patriarch Theodoros II traveled to neighboring Tanzania, accompanied by the Patriarchal Vicar, Archimandrite Chrysostomos Maidonis, Bishop Agathonikos of Arusha, members of the Episcopal Council and priests of the region.
