The new academic year began in Alexandria’s Greek community schools this week with 47 pupils. A blessing ceremony was officiated by the Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, Metropolitan Narkissos, who conveyed the best wishes and blessing of the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II.
In another part of the Mediterranean, a blessing ceremony for the beginning of the new academic year was held on Saturday on the northeast Aegean Island of Imvros, officiated by Metropolitan of Imvros and Tenedos, His Eminence Kyrillos.
Pupils, teachers, and parents, as well as the Greek ambassador to Turkey, other Greek diplomats accredited to Turkey, and representatives of the associations of Imvrian natives abroad.
