Metropolitan of Thira Epiphanios offers second letter of resignation

The Metropolitan of Thira, Amorgos and the Isles, His Eminence Epiphanios, this week conveyed a second letter of resignation to the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos.
The letter has been received by the Archbishop, with reports stating that the Metropolitan of Thira insists that his resignation be accepted, while referring to individuals who took advantage of his age and weakness to try and annul his previous resignation letter, sent in July. The second letter was hand-delivered to the Archdiocese of Athens by a relative of the ailing Metropolitan.

The matter will now be discussed by members of the Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece.
