Metropolitan of Nea Krinis Ioustinos: In 2022 we commemorate a nat’l milestone that entails a very negative connotation

Τhe Metropolitan of Nea Krinis and Kalamaria, His Eminence Ioustinos, spoke of Asia Minor and the abominable Asia Minor Catastrophe of 1922, which led to the eradication of millennia of Hellenism in the specific part of the Near East.
Speaking to the Orthodoxia news agency, His Eminence reminded that both positive and negative events of history entail a lesson for a people.

He noted characteristically, “… last year we celebrated the 200-year anniversary of the beginning of the national independence struggle, a great and positive milestone. This year we commemorate a national milestone that entails a very negative connotation; we lost our ancestral homes in Asia Minor and the east.”
