The Metropolitan of Messinia, His Eminence Chrysostomos, this week reiterated, in one of the more controversial statements on the subject, that not getting vaccinated for the Covid-19 virus, when no other prohibition exists, is tantamount to committing sin.
In a widely reproduced statement, His Eminence notes that “…Either you get the vaccination and create a foundation for protecting life and the lives of others, or, if you don’t get vaccinated you will die and become a purveyor of death in the lives of other people.”
In a related development, the Church of Crete’s Metropolitan of Ierapetra and Sitia, His Eminence Kirillos, issued an encyclical over the issue of Covid-19 inoculations, calling on the faithful to get vaccinated and follow recommendations by public health officials.
