The Russian Orthodox Church’s Metropolitan of Astana & Almaty, His Eminence Alexander, was honored with the highest state distinction of Kazakhstan this week by the central Asian country’s president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the occasion of 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s impendence.
The vast country’s head of state referred to the very significant role of the Orthodox Church in Kazakhstan and its efforts towards the promotion of inter-faith dialogue, as well as preservation of peace and stability in society.
