“It’s not often a major church leader visits Moses Lake.” These words opened the story of the Columbia Basin Herald, which reported on the visit of His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph to the new mission forming in Moses Lake, Wash.

He visited 13 churches and mission during his nine-day, 1730-mile voyage through Washington state and Idaho in the first half of November.

“He’s willing, with his exhausting schedule, to stop and spend a couple of hours with us, and that means everything to us,” said Fr. Paul Jaroslaw, who is offering divine services at the new mission twice a month.

“One day, I am in a huge cathedral, another day a little modest chapel. What is the difference?” Sayidna Joseph told the dozen congregants. “The presence of God is the only thing that matters.”
