The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, on Friday issued a message to pupils and educators in the country, on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year on Monday.
In especially turning to pre-school and primary school pupils, His Beatitude, expressed his hope that they discover and cultivate their natural gifts and talents, being happy in the success of others and avoiding jealousy.
As He added: “…Thus you will live with love and harmony amongst yourselves, and the Light of Christ will bring you joy.”
In a related development, the manner in which the traditional morning prayer will be conducted at schools around the country has not been announced by the relevant education ministry, given the fact that an assembly of pupils will not be held, due to precautions against the spread of the coronavirus.
