Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be present at an extraordinary session of the Permanent Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece next Monday.
According to reports, the issue of the ongoing pandemic ahead of the Christmas holidays will be discussed by hierarchs, as well as the course of a Covid-19 vaccination program in the country.
In terms of the latter, some 100,000 individuals in Greece were vaccinated yesterday, Tuesday, according to public health authorities. Some 6.7 million out of roughly 11 million people in Greece are now fully vaccinated, although public health officials have warned that Covid-related deaths may increase over the coming period.
