Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Costas Vlassis on Tuesday continued his visit to the semi-autonomous monastic community of Mount Athos. The minister’s portfolio includes international ecclesiastical affairs and diplomacy, as jurisdiction for Mount Athos comes under Greece’s foreign affairs ministry.
A day earlier, Vlassis represented Athens at the change in the leadership of the rotating Sacred Administration of the holy mountain.
He also visited four holy monasteries on the northern Greece peninsula.
