A Great Archieratical Orthros was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Metropolitan chapel of St. Paraskevi, in the west Athens district of Nea Ionia, on the occasion of the feast day of the Nativity of the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary.
The chapel displays an exact replica of the Holy and Wonder-working Icon of the Panaghia Vimatarissa, a gift from the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi of Mount Athos to the Metropolis of Nea Ionia.
The Metropolitan of Aneon, His Eminence Makarios, officiated at the service, while the Metropolitan of Nea Ionia, His Eminence Gabriel, officiated at Wednesday’s con-celebratory Divine Liturgy.
