Five new Metropolitans of the Church of Greece elected

Sessions of the Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece continued for a fifth straight day on Friday, with hierarchs of the Church of Greece convening at the Inter-Orthodox Center at the Holy Monastery of Penteli, due north of Athens, and under the chairmanship of the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos.
During the last day of sessions for the month of October, the Holy Synod elected five new Metropolitans to vacant thrones, namely, the Archimandrite Vartholomeos Antonios Triantafillidis as the new Metropolitan of Polyanis and Kilkis.

Archimandrite Amfilochios Rousakis as the new Metropolitan of Thira, Amorgos & the Isles.

Archimandrite Platon Krikris was elected as the new Metropolitan of Lagada.

Archimandrite Kallinikos Georgatos was elected as the new Metropolitan of Kastoria, and finally, Archimandrite Grigorios Papathomas was elected as the new Metropolitan of Peristeri.
