On the occasion of the feast day of St. Paraskevi, the Metropolitan of Corfu, His Eminence Nektarios, officiated at a con-celebratory Vespers on Sunday at the Holy Convent of Makradon, dedicated to the saint at the Paleokatritsa site.
The ferry boat Nissos Samos, with captain Giorgos Arvanitis at the helm, this year again paid tribute to St. Paraskevi by passing off the shore where a cathedral dedicated to the saint is located at the eastern Aegean island of Chios, replete with fireworks.
