Feast day of St. George Karslidis commemorated without pilgrims this year
An annual feast day services and devotional events for St. George Karslidis were held without worshippers and pilgrims this year in the northern prefecture of Drama, in order to avoid the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
A wake was held on the eve of the feast day based on Athonite rite. The Metropolitan of Drama, His Eminence Pavlos, officiated at the Great Vespers and Orthros.
An Archieratical Divine Liturgy was held on Thursday at the Holy Monastery of the Ascension, where the saint’s grave and Holy Relics are found.
