The memory of St. Evdokimos the Newly-Revealed, is venerated today at the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi, as based on the Julian calendar.
A con-celebratory all-night vigil was held on the evening of Sunday and into the early morning hours, officiated by the Bishop of Lydra, His Grace Epiphanios, and co-officiated by several hierarchs and elders, including the Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the Vatopedi Monastery on the Mount Athos.

When in the year 1840 the Fathers of Monastery wanted to repair an affiliated cemetery, they discovered the relics of a saint entirely uncorrupted and exuding an inexpressibly sweet aroma. Since this unknown saint, by his entire way of life and his ascetic trials, had been pleasing to God and had showed himself truly to be a well-tried vessel of divine grace, he was given the name of ‘Evdokimos’, which in Greek means Well-tried.

Fathers of the monastery, Elders from other monasteries and pilgrims later assembled for a traditional Athonite welcoming of sweets and coffee after the vigil’s conclusion.
