Attending physicians on Monday termed the condition of Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi, as critical but stable.
The Elder Ephraim remains hospitalized and intubated, for a fourth straight day, in an ICU at the public Evangelismos Hospital in Athens.
Despite medical complications over the past few days, which caused physicians to opt for intubation, his condition on Monday remained stable, whereas clinical results on the same day allow for guarded optimism.
