The Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi, remained intubated on Monday for a 11th straight day, with attending physicians describing his condition as stable while also showing signs of improvement.
The latest exams show an improved overall clinical condition for the beloved Elder.

The Elder Ephraim remains in Athens’ Evagelismos Hospital’s ICU, fighting against a particularly serious Covid-19 infection due to underlying health conditions.
Attending physicians, headed by pulmonary specialist and epidemiologist Dr. Anastasia Kotanidou, have stabilized the Elder’s condition.
The Elder Ephraim was admitted to the public Evangelismos Hospital on May 28 for treatment in a Covid-19 ward. His transfer to an enhanced care unit was deemed necessary on May 30.

Less than a week later, on June 4, physicians determined that the Elder should be intubated, due to complications from the underlying conditions.
