The Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the Holy & Great Monastery of Vatopedi, remained intubated on Thursday in an Athens hospital ICU for a seventh consecutive day.
His condition was described by attending physicians as stable, without any deterioration.
The beloved Elder was admitted to the public Evangelismos Hospital on May 28 for treatment in a Covid-19 ward. His transfer to an enhanced care unit was deemed necessary on May 30.
Less than a week later, on June 4, physicians determined that the Elder should be intubated, due to complications from underlying health conditions.
Despite the complications, the Elder’s medical condition remains stable.
