The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, on Monday visited the northeastern Aegean Island of Imbros, as part of his annual late spring visit to his birthplace.
His All Holiness was welcomed by Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, local clergy, as well as pupils of the ethnic Greek school on the island, which reopened thanks to the efforts of the Ecumenical Patriarch.
Pupils held flowers and a floral placard commemorating the 30 years that Bartholemew I has been on the Ecumenical throne.
