Divine Liturgy held at Holy Stavropegic Monastery of the Apostle Barnabas, in still Turkish-occupied Salamina
A Divine Liturgy was held on Sunday in the basilica of the Holy Stavropegic Monastery of the Apostle Barnabas on Sunday, which lies in the township of Salamina, on the divided east Mediterranean island of Cyprus.
Salamina and the ancient eponymous site of the same name are located in the Turkish-occupied area of Cyprus.
The occupation forces have illegally transformed one of the most significant Christian pilgrimages of Cyprus into museum of icons.
The Metropolitan of Konstantia and Ammohostos, His Grace Vassilios, officiated at a Divine Liturgy, following an invitation by the monastery’s Abbot, Archimandrite Ioannis.
