The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece has reportedly conveyed letters to relevant ministries reminding of the Church’s standing demand that cathedrals and chapels around the country remain open to worshippers during the coming Holy Easter Week.
Easter Sunday will be celebrated this year on Sunday, May 2.
The permanent Holy Synod of the Church of Greece has underlined that all public health measures and precautions will be strictly followed.
One possible scenario under consideration is for the Holy Services to be held in cathedrals’ courtyards.
The very sensitive issue of services for Holy Easter Week will again be discussed by hierarchs during a Holy Synod session next week.
