Christmas celebration organized this week in Syrian capital of Damascus

A Christmas celebration was organized this past week in the Syrian capital of Damascus by a delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Municipality of Moscow and a federation of Russian military veterans.
With the blessing of the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, His Beatitude John X, children from the Sunday school Marya-MI-yah of the Patriarchal cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos, participated.

The children were greeted by Abbot Arseniy, a representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarchate of Antioch.

Volunteers from Russia and local Orthodox faithful organized games and a drawing seminar, while the children also composed Christmas best wishes for the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East.
