Archdiocese of Australia welcomes retraction issued by ABC news network

The Archdiocese of Australia welcomed with satisfaction a retraction issued by the ABC news network.
The latter media group expressed an apology to the Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, for the distorting reports, which bordered on the slanderous, which it had published last April at the expense of the Archbishop, the Greek Orthodox Church of Australia and its faithful on the island continent

In a text that was posted on its official website last week, ABC confirmed the absurdity and unfoundedness of the correlation between both the dire situation, which the pandemic caused in 2020 at St Basil’s Homes in Melbourne, and the news agency’s reports regarding financial management of previous years, wrongly correlating those with the person of the Archbishop.
