A finance committee of the Archdiocese of America this week held its regularly scheduled meeting, with the Metropolitan of Detroit, His Eminence Nicholas, presiding and with Archon Lazaros Kircos chairing.
The session also included members of the individual Metropolis finance committees, as a significant portion of the meeting was devoted to activities that directly impact parishes, and where finance committees have significant responsibilities.
During the meeting, Elaine Allen, the Archdiocese’s treasurer, presented a report outlining the financial health of the institution.
She stated that “…After many years of deficits, 2020 was the 3rd straight year where significant expense control kept expenses below revenues and helped to strengthen the financial position of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.”
