The Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, this week conveyed a message to all the faithful, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Crete in May 1941.
The Archbishop of Australia underlined that “…this proud struggle for freedom and dignity, and the heavy toll paid in blood by our ancestors is for all of us, today, both a significant legacy as well as a historic debt. Their sacrifice is a valuable beacon that illuminates our path and is a guide for what principles and values we should follow.”
