The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, was received by the Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox, at the Utah State Capitol on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Archbishop of America praised the governor’s consistent efforts to promote vaccinations in Utah, as well as his courage, as he said, in taking to task those who spread disinformation against vaccines. The Utah Governor warmly received Archbishop Elpidophoros, and thanked him for his kind words, welcoming him on behalf of the people of Utah.
In the evening, His Eminence visited the Greek Orthodox parish of the Transfiguration in Ogden, Utah, where he was warmly welcomed by Proto-presbyter Mario Giannopoulos. The community later hosted a dinner in honor of the Archbishop’s historic visit to Utah.
