Archbishop Elpidophoros: No worry over health of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew

The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, on Sunday appeared reassuring in the wake of the hospitalization of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, at a Washington D.C.-area hospital, and shortly after the latter’s arrival in the United States to begin a 10-day pastoral visit.

The Archbishop said there is no reason to worry about the health of the Ecumenical Patriarch, with His All Holiness expected to be released at some point on Monday, eastern standard time.

According to the Archbishop Elpidophoros, the results of all medical tests are excellent, meaning that the Ecumenical Patriarch will continue his itinerary, which includes meetings with US President Joe Biden at the White House and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the US State Department.

In a statement, the Archbishop of America said the Ecumenical Patriarch will “…continue his program because, as I told you, our Patriarch is fine. There is no cause for concern. The program tomorrow will take place from morning to night. We have not cut anything throughout the program.”
