Today marks the 29th anniversary of the election of Archbishop Anastasios to the throne of the Autocephalous Church of Tirana, Durres and All Albania.
On the occasion of the anniversary, Pemptousia Television has posted a documentary on the ground-breaking work and ministry of Archbishop Anastasios in Albania.
Anastasios was chosen by the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Holy Synod to assume a very difficult task, namely, to re-establish the Orthodox Church in the Adriatic country after more than four decades of enduring the most repressive communist regime in Europe.
