The Patriarchate of Jerusalem on Monday celebrated the 16-year anniversary of the enthronement of Patriarch Theophilos to the glorious throne of the Jerusalem Patriarchate.
A Doxology service was joyously held in the morning at the Catholicon of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, presided over by His Most Godly Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos, with co-celebrants being Hagiotaphite hierarchs, hieromonks and deacons, and with participation in prayer of monks and nuns from all institutions of the Patriarchate’s jurisdiction, along with numerous faithful.
Among the many messages of congratulations for the anniversary was one by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, who referred to the Jerusalem Patriarch’s efforts to promote peace in the Holy Land and to protect and preserve Christian pilgrimage sites.
