13th General Assembly of World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association commences in Athens

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday welcomed delegates in Athens attending the 13th General Assembly of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association.
In his welcoming address, Mitsotakis praised the contributions of lawmakers of Greek descent around the world in promoting Greece’s position on the international stage, and in defense of the Hellenism’s national rights, while adding: “especially amid a period of Turkish aggression against Cyprus and against the sovereign rights of Greece.”

On his part, Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades also addressed the same general assembly, referring directly to last week’s illegal visit by the Turkish president to occupied territories of Cyprus and official Turkey’s unacceptable and persistent provocations, as he said.
