Former Greek president Karolos Papoulias laid to rest

Former two-time Greek president Karolos Papoulias was laid to rest on Thursday in his hometown of Ioannina. Papoulias passed away on Sunday at the age of 92.
An interment ceremony was held on the islet within Lake Pamvotida, on whose banks the northwest Greece city is located.

The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople was represented by the Metropolitan of Adrianoupolis, His Eminence Amphilochios, who is also the head of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s representation office in Athens.
