Today, Dec. 7, marks the 47th anniversary of the return of Cyprus president, Archbishop Makarios, to the island republic after a Turkish invasion and occupation of one-third of the east Mediterranean isle months earlier, in July and August 1974.
The Orthodoxia news agency has posted a feature on the emblematic Cypriot ecclesiastical and political leader, complete with rare audio-visual footage.
