Representatives of recognized religions meet with Romanian PM, health minister to discuss measures related to pandemic

Representatives of the 17 recognized religious faiths and confessions in Romania, including the Romanian Orthodox Church, the dominant and oldest denomination in the country, met on Thursday with Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae (tsi-U-ka) Ciucă and the relevant health minister.

The meeting focused entirely on the presence of faithful in places of worship amid the ongoing pandemic, with the government in Bucharest examining the prospect of requiring Covid-19 vaccination certificates for entry into the latter.

Nevertheless, representatives of religious faiths petitioned against the implementation of such a measure, saying worshippers should not be hindered from entry.
