Patriarch of Alexandria Theodoros II celebrates birthday with faithful in Johannesburg

Thursday marked the birthday of the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, who celebrated his 67th birthday together with members of Orthodox communities of Johannesburg.
The Patriarch of Alexandria is on a missionary tour of southern Africa, with visits and services scheduled at several Orthodox parishes and metropolises.

A Patriarchal Divine Liturgy was officiated by His Divine Beatitude at the Cathedral of the True Cross in small city of Germiston.

Afterwards, a reception was hosted in honor of the Cretan-born Patriarch of Alexandria, where a dance troupe from the local ethnic Serbian community performed traditional dances, and where the hierarch received best-wishes by Orthodox faithful from around greater Johannesburg area.
