St. Catherine Monastery on God-Trodden Mt. Sinai mostly inaccessible to pilgrims for coming feast day

The annual feast day of St. Catherine will be celebrated without pilgrims in the coming days at the Greek Orthodox monastery of the God-trodden Mount Sinai, which is dedicated to the saint, and due to the ongoing pandemic.
An announcement by the Holy Monastery clarifies that only external areas, the SA-christy, which is the chapel of preparation, and the outer portion of the main cathedral at the venerable pilgrimage site will be accessible — and only when Holy Services are not being held.

The Catholicos, or main cathedral of the monastery, will be inaccessible to pilgrims.
