Archbishop of America Elpidophoros calls Ecumenical Patriarch’s recent 2-week Apostolic visit to US ‘historic’

The Archbishop of America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, on Tuesday described the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople’s recently concluded two-week visit to the United States as “historic”.
His Eminence noted that he is extremely please with the outcome of the visit by His All Holiness Bartholomew I, while noting that numerous obstacles were overcome during the visit.

Regarding the Ecumenical Patriarch’s health, the Archbishop of America stressed that “…it seems that God brought Him here in order to be Patriarch for another 30 years”.

Additionally, the Archbishop said the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and national shrine near Ground Zero in Manhattan will be open for services during Easter.
