Hierarchical assembly of Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople this week
The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, this week officiated at the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy of the Feast of the Indiction, commemorating the beginning of the new ecclesiastical year, and co-officiated by several of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s hierarchs.
Meanwhile, working sessions of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s Assembly of hierarchs are taking place at centrally located hotel in the Bosporus metropolis, in order to avoid travel due to the pandemic.
Wednesday is dedicated to prayer for the protection of the natural environment.
The Ecumenical Patriarch, in his message for environmental protection, emphasized that “…the indifference for the suffering fellow humans and for the destruction of the ”very good “creation, is an insult to God and a violation of his commandments … Where there is respect for creation and practical love for God’s beloved man, there, God is present.”
His All Holiness also expressed a hope for the end of the spread of what he termed as “pseudo-scientific views”, regarding the unproven risks of Covid-19 vaccines.
