Church of Greece encyclical regarding Covid-19 pandemic, vaccinations read out in parishes during Sunday services

An encyclical issued by the Church of Greece’s permanent Holy Synod regarding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and its treatment, was read out at all parishes in the country on Sunday where services were held.

The encyclical was entitled “Christians Ask US About the Vaccine and Physicians Answer”.

In the encyclical, members of the Holy Synod underlined the necessity of medical science, as the Lord himself declared “…when the body is sick, there is a need for the help of physicians”.

The Holy Synod also stated, in the message to the faithful, that the Church trusts the scientific community of physicians, stating, among others, “…the permanent Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, knowing that vaccination is a supreme act of responsibility towards one’s fellow man, recommends to all, in consultation with their physician, to use the gift that God has given us, to protect ourselves and others.”
