Metropolitan of Volokolamsk meets with former US ambassador for int’l religious freedom Brownback, on sidelines of D.C. con’f

The Russian Orthodox Church’s Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, His Eminence Hilarion, on Thursday met with Sam Brownback, the former US ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the inaugural International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, DC.
During the meeting, His Eminence Hilarion, who is the head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, brought up the issue of continued persecutions of Christians around the world, including in the Middle East and parts of Africa.
